Can you install a CFC on a 6824-SFP-2T?

We have a WS-X6824-SFP-2T card that we need to use temporarily in a 6500 that still has a Sup720.  Can I swap the DFC for a CFC and make it work?I'm guessing I can because you can upgrade a 6724 with a DFC4-A, but was hoping someone has done this bef...
