I am running cme 11.5 with 7841 SIP phones. A wireshark capture shows RTP streams going through the CME router and not directly between phones. Is this normal? Should I see RTP chatter between two SIP phones ?

The line does indicate a voicemail as long as it is not forwarded. As soon as you forward the line, the indicator disappears. A 7841 phone does indicate a VM using the same line when it is cfw. It is an issue with the 8800 phones it seems.

Thank you for the info. The two docs kind of contradict each other. My application is CME not CUCM.
