I think you are talking about the "best of both worlds" option. Where you have a vPC in the form of an active-active FEX, and then you have one port from each of two different FEX in a vPC. This is known as a two-layer vpc, or an enhanced vpc. Whe...
TJ,Is it possible you are referring to the log keyword on the Nexus 7000? The hardware capabilities in this case do not correspond to the N5k platform unfortunately.Regards,John
Sorry for being too general, the vPC statement doesn't apply to your setup here so it would be up to you to use shared wire for your traditional LAN VLANs and FCoE VLANs. You could not transition these links to vPC in the future though, due to the r...
vPC and FCoE can not coexist on the same wire beyond any first hop access device. The VE ports must be dedicated from site to site, separate from the normal ethernet traffic.Regards,John Gill
I know this is an old question, but I am curious if you saw the throughput issues perhaps tied to any one particular N5k in the vPC?Did you perhaps have a SPAN configuration (switchport mode monitor) on one switch and not the other?Regards,John Gill
