CALL-FLOW

Gents:

I am wondering if you somebody could help me understanding the call-flow in two scenarios.

Some basic network setup(Planned, not in place yet)

We have two sites in Philadelphia, 2 miles apart, and planning to install MPLS VPN between the sites.

We are planning on CM clusters in Main office, and branch office has to rely on the Main office for call processing. Based on those assumption, i am trying to understand the call-flows

Scenario-1 (Centralized call-processing)

Case-1: Incoming PSTN call destined to a IP Phone in the BRANCH Office

PSTN call->Gateway at Main office->CCM at Main office->Routed to IP Phone in Branch office

Case-2 PSTN call from Branch Office IP to outside world.

PSTN Call->CCM at Main office-> Gateway-> PSTN Trunk.

Please let me know if this call flow is correct?

Hi,

Case 1 : Correct with the following note

PSTN call->Gateway at Main office->CCM at Main office->Routed to Branch Gateway ->IP Phone in Branch office

Case 2 : Branch Office IP -> Branch Gateway ->Gateway at Main office->CCM at Main office-> Gateway-> PSTN Trunk. (More detailed)

More efficient solution (maybe a little more expensive) is to provide the branch office with connection to the PSTN so only signalisation is going to the main office but voice goes through the PSTN trunk at the branch.

Hope that is helping:)
