How can I get the PGW Serial Number?

I´m trying to get the Serial Number of PGW in order to register it at cisco contract, but I don´t know how can I get it,  Can you give to me the way physically or by commands I can get that Number?

Hi Ruben,

The most accurate way is to get the serial numbers located on the chassis of the SUN hardware. Select the type of server you have from the following URL and it will outline the location of the serial number on the chassis...

Not at this time.  The serial number is that of the SUN hardware, and there is not a standard interface for obtaining the that info across all servers.

However, some of the Sun machines won't recognize the Serial number automatically. It needs to set it at the first time.

The command is:
# sneep -s

Then it will write into several places, include the eeprom.

After that you can get SN via sneep.

run this command on the root prompt of your sun machine and you can get the suns Chassis Serial Number at the end of the file.

#prtdiag -v
