MAC address OUI - Cisco model cross-reference available?

Currently when provisioning new devices purchased in the field, we are asking for the Cisco model and MAC address of the device in order to provision the device correctly.  We are finding a percentage of the model numbers supplied are wrong and we have to do it again.  Is there a Cisco cross-reference that will let us determine the model from the MAC address provided?  Such as the OUI (00-0E-08 for example is a Cisco SPA962)?

Cisco doesn't publish that information. It might be informally available from you sales office, depending on the person handling the request.

If you have some kind of monitoring software like Solarwinds etc you can use SNMP.  Or another way you can do it is ask them to send you output of a "show version" or "show inventory".
