Redundant Domain Controllers

I have some really strange problems with Unity and dual domain controllers. I tried to use the DiRT tool restore with 2 domain controllers and it would fail leaving unity in an usable state. I removed one of the domain controllers and everything worked fine.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Were the DC's different when you took the backup image?

Let me see if this is what you meant.

If both domain controllers (I'll assume that they are both for the same domain) exists, then DIRT fails.

If you remove one (using DCPromo), then DIRT works fine.

Perhaps you have the windows DC roles spilt among the two servers. By demoting one, the DC left is holding all the roles. I am thinking that Global Catalog might be the issue.

Did you see any errors in the domain controllers, or Unity? What kind of failures?
