UTF-8 character set on Q.Sig trunk

Hello,

I tried to send IP Phone caller name which contains UTF-8 characters on a Q.Sig trunk without success.

What I see on my ISDN protocol tester is that CallManager sends the ASCII display name instead of (UTF-8) Display name.

I use CallmManager 5.1, MGCP ISO Q.Sig, 2811 vgw with 12.4 IOS, 7961 type IP Phone.

I of course set the "Transmit UTF-8 for Calling Party Name" checkbox at the E1 port config. I also checked to use the same user locale at the IP Phone and the device pool which is assigned to the gateway.

Any Idea?

Thank you!

This can occur if the facility message from the IP Phone cannot be decoded by the Cisco CallManager. The solution is to Change ASN.1 ROSE OID Encoding under the service Paramaters > Advanced.
