Hi all,

Does anybody knows the number for the quanty of call using the new 7920 phone at the same time when connected to the same Access Point? G711 & G729? What about Latency?

Also any overhead information about voice on wireless MAC will be apreciated?

Regards

I don't know of any documentation released to this effect yet, but third party wireless phones using g.711 document a restriction of 5 to 7 calls maximum per access point. Spectralink actually has a special box to enforce this, their "SVP Server". Even with the new QoS options, it is unlikely that the new 7920 phones will substantially exceed that number. (this is my personal opinion only)

More documentation on this, including a design guide, is supposed to be made available by FCS (first customer ship) date, sometime in June.

Thanks you. I will wait for the design guide but in any case, 5 to 7 seems to me very low if we fully dedicated the BW for Voice with no other application running on the same AP beside the Voice signaling.

Even with 128 bit encryption I think there is enought BW to play with including 802.11 MAC overhead, and a fully RTP packet without CRTP.

I will look further on this.

Thanks for the help
