I have seen problems for this occur with firewalls as well. Be sure that all firewalls and antivirus are off when doing this.
The document has a good run through of what it takes to have this go smoothly.

From CUE, can you ping the IP of the computer that you are trying to perform the upgrade from?
From the computer, can you provide a netstat -a and provide the output?

Hi Steven,
here is the ping result from the CUE:

Can you try to perform the upgrade again, get a screen shot of the message CCA is giving, attach the CCA logs (In CCA, Help -> Support Information ->Troubleshooting Log), and can you attach your config of the UC500?
11-18-2009 01:12 PM
11-18-2009 01:29 PM
You got the SW here, right?
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9829
Also, inside the CUE, there is backup and there is a backup server definition (this one points to my PC running CCA, I didnt set it, I think CCA does)
backup server url "ftp://192.168.10.15/cue" credentials hidden "DifP/OCucQjEPBe
0xTfJi7p1z3CtbNOn4knYFHa4texJ3xlk2B35j0nfGWTYHfmPSd8ZZNgd+Y9J3xlk2B35j0nfGWTYHf
mPSd8ZZNgd+Y9J3xlk2B35j0nfGWTYHfmP"
And there is an SW upgrade Server definition (this is a UC540 so I didnt upgrade it yet, but I would expect it to point to the PC too?
software download server url "ftp://127.0.0.1/ftp" credentials hidden "6u/dKTN/
hsEuSAEfw40XlF2eFHnZfyUTSd8ZZNgd+Y9J3xlk2B35j0nfGWTYHfmPSd8ZZNgd+Y9J3xlk2B35j0n
fGWTYHfmPSd8ZZNgd+Y9J3xlk2B35j0nfGWTYHfmP"
site name local
site-hostname 10.1.10.2
web credentials hidden "GixGRq8cUmFqrOHVxftjAknfGWTYHfmPSd8ZZNgd+Y9J3xlk2B35j0
nfGWTYHfmPSd8ZZNgd+Y9J3xlk2B35j0nfGWTYHfmPSd8ZZNgd+Y9J3xlk2B35j0nfGWTYHfmP"
end site
Not asking you to adjust any of it, just maybe share it back? Did you ever manually adjust this?
There is a manual command to set that up:
UC500-CUE(config)# software download server url ftp://192.168.10.17/ftp username anonymous password cisco
NOTE: DON’T USE ANY SPECIAL CHARACTERS like @ in password (BUG)
I wonder if we adjusted it, if CCA SW upgrade would work better? but this is risky and maybe better to have TAC on the line for this if this is a production system.....
11-18-2009 03:13 PM
In the logs, I see this...
++: DEBUG: : Validating pac
++: DEBUG: : kage signature ... done
++: DEBUG: : IOError: CRC check failed
Could you download the file again and try the upgrade?
11-18-2009 01:33 PM
Hi Steve,
I am confused, what do you need me to do? My device is a UC520W not a UC540?
Have you found out why the upgrade is not working, Think I should go to aprevious version of CCA?
Thanks
Brian
11-18-2009 01:37 PM
I am sorry. Didnt mean to confuse you or interfere with the work you and Steven are conducting.
I just looked at your screen shot and saw Backup worked, then upgrade failed.
I was thinking that if you sessioned into your CUE, you could see how those two blobs were set up on your system.
I shared the CLI to set the upgrade server, only to let you know it was there, but you shouldnt have to do it with CCA 2.1.1
I think the CCA Application Log that Steven asked for is whet we would need to give to the CCA team. I think a screen shot of your CUE config would be nice to have as well...
Tanks

HI,
How do I get into the CUE config screen to print it off?
Thanks
Brian

I just spoke to Steven. He is looking through the log. he said he didnt need this (what I suggested).
But here is how to get in there:
