Cisco IP Phone SPA502G Power adapter

Hello 

I want  to ask about cisco IP Phone SPA502G power ... the power adapter voltage is 5v DC , but it can work by POE ( which delivers 48 V ) .. can I use Power adapter with 48 V to turn on the IP phone ?

Probably NO and never recommended to use over rating power adaptor. It can damage your device.

While using PoE it's ok because PoE module itself takes care to withdraw only required power. So when switch provides 48V power, your device will use only 5V.

I think I've just killed my phone plugging a 24v POE adapter into mine- Oh well
