This unit has been working fine for about 3 years at least. Occasional drops that need a reboot. However, yesterday is has gone down hard and will not register. Logs show:

Mar 26 16:25:09 SPA122 daemon.err dnsmasq[165]: failed to load names from /etc/hosts: No such file or directory
Mar 26 16:25:26 SPA122 kern.err [17179603.756000] Created coma thread for processing coma control message
Mar 26 16:25:43 SPA122 daemon.err system[1]: notify add wan1 interface(br0)
Mar 26 16:25:43 SPA122 daemon.err system[1]: start 0 vlan-id... ok
Mar 26 16:25:43 SPA122 daemon.err system[1]: add vlan-interface(SYSTEM_VLAN_INTERFACE_ADD) fail(-1)

Any advice?

Thanks

This is kernel-level syslog. It have no value most of time.

Registration is job for Voice Application running on the device. Thus voice application syslog is relevant here. Read Debug and syslog Messages from SPA1x2 and SPA232D ATA

Also, you should capture registration packets sent by device as well as providers responses to them.

I assume you verified the device is still configured properly.
