Can you please tell us how to make the ring different when a handset recevies an internal call as opposed to an external call.

There is a guide here to do it:

However this will require some CLI work doing it via this method.

Hello !
I have the same pb with my UC500 and my 7965 phone.
I have read the document but when i change the settings, that's not work... ring stay every time the same.
What's the diffrencence between Defaut Ringtone (Choice 1 on User Settings on the phone) and the Choice 2 (with my phone number) ?

One setting specifies the default for all lines, while the second (or third, or fourth, etc.) allows you to specify a ring tone per line.
