How do I access the SPA 303 admin webpage?
http://ipaddress/admin/ does not work
In the phone the “security configuration” menu option “web service writable” is set to NO and I can not change to YES. The paddle lock icon is locked and I can not change to unlocked
What is the key code to unlock the paddle lock? For the 7940 phone it is #**# but that did not work.
What is the url to the admin web page for the phone?

Hi Aaron,
The SPA phones by factory default work in SIP-mode. Reading your post, it sounds like your phones are working with UC500 in SPCP-mode.
The SPA series phones do not have a default password on them. If you're seeing a lock icon, that's because it was set by some administrator, but not by Cisco.
The URL you are using is correct for phones in SIP-mode: http://phoneIP/admin or http://phoneIP/admin/advanced
For SPCP-mode (UC500) you'll need to use: http://phoneIP or http://phoneIP/advanced
In SPCP-mode, you don't configure the phones from the Web-UI, you use CCA instead.

Patrick

The phone is in SPCP mode and I need to get it back to SIP mode. We do not plan to use the SPA303 with a Cisco Call Manager or Call Manager Express. SPA 303 setup for Asterisk (FreePBX)
OEM Start up with phone is SIP mode
1. Power up phone
2. Press the menu button
3. select option 22 for “Call Control Settings”
4. select option 2 “SPCP Auto Detect”
5. change option to “No” and save
6. phone will reset
7. connect to network, the phone will then get an IP from DHCP and reset
8. select option 9 “network”
9. the IP address is option 2
10. from a web browser connect to that IP address and configure the phone
If the phone is in SPCP mode
1. disconnect the network cable and power cycle the phone
2. press the menu button
3. select option 7 “factory reset”
4. the phone will restart into SIP mode
5. press the menu button
6. select option 22 for “Call Control Settings”
7. select option 2 “SPCP Auto Detect”
8. change option to “No”
9. phone will reset
10. connect to network, the phone will then get an IP from DHCP and reset
11. select option 9 “network”
12. the IP address is option 2
13. from a web browser connect to that IP address and configure the phone

Aaron,
It looks like you're set. One other setting that sometimes trips people up is that the phones have Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) enabled by default. This will cause the phone to a DHCP DISCOVER on the voice VLAN reported in the CDP response. You can disable CDP via the web-UI or the phone's interface in a similar fashion to what you've described.

Patrick

You only need one reference document for all SPA phone firmware, information, and utilities.

When I follow the steps, I stuck at step 3. It pops out 'Enter Admin Password:'. If I enter the correct password, it doesn't let me press ok. If I enter the wrong password, I can press ok, but I got "Wrong Password". Any idea what to do? Thanks.
If the phone is in SPCP mode
1. disconnect the network cable and power cycle the phone
2. press the menu button
3. select option 7 “factory reset”
4. the phone will restart into SIP mode
5. press the menu button
6. select option 22 for “Call Control Settings”
7. select option 2 “SPCP Auto Detect”
8. change option to “No”
9. phone will reset
10. connect to network, the phone will then get an IP from DHCP and reset
11. select option 9 “network”
12. the IP address is option 2
13. from a web browser connect to that IP address and configure the phone

What you mean ".../admin/" page doesn't work ?
If your device is OEM/restricted unit, you ability do modify the configuration may be restricted according the OEM/supplier wishes. Ask the seller of the unit in the question for help.
For open/unrestricted unit reset the unit to factory defaults then configure it from scratch.
