How to retrieve config from pre-config SPA112?

As the subject says; I have a SPA 112 unit which has been pre-configured by an ISP - Is it possible to one way another to retrieve the configuration from this unit? I can initially log into the unit if i perform av factory reset; but after 30-60 seconds it's locks me out when it has loaded and applied the pre-config package which it was shipped with. What I want to do is to pull out essential configation as dial plan, etc.

As long as you can login as admin, you can fetch the configuration. Use http://<ip>/admin/config.xml

Note - there is no pre-config shipped with as far as I know. I mean saved pre-config set that's applied past factory reset. There is just modified set of factory default settings. It contain URL to remote provisioning server. The device is fetching it's configuration here. So it may not be possible to fetch things like dial plan. There will be no non-default dial plan configured in factory-default state and you will be kicked of when downloaded provisioning become applied.

check to see if the unit has a model number ending in an -Rx  (RC, R1, R2, etc)

if that is the case they have the providers info hard coded into the profile rule to force them to be "hands free" provisioned.  If so, I would return it to where you purchased it, as it is not really configurable (except by the isp who purchased it). or return it to the ISP and have them swap it for a non -rc unit.

The provider may be able to unlock these, but they are not likely to.

Wireshark or a packet capture spanning the switch port that is upstream from the ATA would show the provisioning, and possibly the admin password if the provider did not set up the file to upload securely. 

Larger ITSP will most likely use the recommendations in the provisioning guide, you will not be able to break in easily. The provisioning file will be encrypted, and the connection to provision will use trusted cert.

If you are able to factory reset the unit and access it, just make sure that after the factory reset the unit is not connected to the internet, this way the phone won't be able to connect to any servers and should allow you to stay connected looking at the config.
