We've got a SPA400 plugged in to 2 British Telecom phone lines. On shows a positive voltage on the Line battery level (around 50V) the other a negative level (-51V). We are having a few problems with line drop outs - but thought we should establish that the lines are good before we go much further.
Thanks,
Adam

Hi Adam,
Could it be that the wiring in the 50V line has tip and ring reversed? I'd expect to see about -51V.

Patrick

Thank you, at least I know that something is wrong with the line.
Do you know if this would cause line drop outs with a SPA400? I know that the line does connect, but the users are complaining that lines sometimes drop out on them.
Thanks,
Adam

Hi Adam,
I doubt that it would cause a call to be dropped.
Check to see if they have call waiting on the line that gets dropped. If they do, have call waiting disabled and test.

Patrick
