MeetMe across sites.

Couple of quick questions and some background - we have four UC500's (One UC560 and three UC540's at branch offices) all connected via VPN and capable of extenson to extension dialing to each office - works great.  However, remote branches with the 540's are unable to dial the 771 or 772 extensions at the main office (UC560) to connect to a conference (technically, they dial 81771 or if they were calling a normal extension, something like 81144 or 81125).  My questions are:

1) Is it still the case that the only outside caller access to the MeetMe is by establishing a DID to the conference extensions, or by transfer from someone internal?  (I cannot dial 771 or 772 from the autoattendant - this is why I ask).

2) Does this also impact extension to extension dialing from branch offices that can successfully already dial the main office extension to extension?

Thanks!

You should be able to call MeetMe from anywhere, if configured correctly.

Maybe (just an hypotesis), you have set intersite calling as G.729, but conference profile is G.711 only,

In any case, to troubleshoot call failure, you logically revise config and flow step by step, and/or take traces..

Hi Brett,

I was actually assuming that when you built the system using CCA you would have used the recommended extensions that CCA proposes to you, now unless you manually changed that to be in the same extension range as your phone extension, CCA will issue it a default extension range of 7XX (IF I am not mistaken) for Conferencing.

Multi-Site manager has never factored this in when I used it and a Dial-Peer had to be created using CCA to support this (With some slight modification using CLI).

Either way you look at this it will work and has be done countless times, doing this with support though will ensure that it remains CCA/SBSC compliant and a certainty it will work

Cheers,

David.

SIte Manager is set for G.711, and the MeetMe is G.711.  I changed MeetMe to G.711/G.729) mode to see if that will work.  I will test it tomorrow when I can go to the site and have a branch call in to the extension as well.  Hope it works!

Hello Brett,

So long as sites "B" and "C" have dial-peers in them which points to the Meet-Me at Site "A" then all should be fine, they all can have their own independent Meet-Me's as well... If no Dial-Peer you may need to create it so that way they are aware of the Meet-Me extension and its destination.

Cheers,

David.

How would the meet me be different than any other extension call? Where can I verify this is, or isn't the case? I will be going on site this afternoon and most likely working with Cisco - but any help prior to would be great.

Both are correct...though the G.7211/729 mode change is what fixed the site to site calling to the MeetMe.  We added DID's for the external calling instead of two options on the autoattendant.  Simpler for external folks to get to the conference calls.

Thank you both!
