Hi, I just got a PAP2T-Na and wanted to update the firmware to the latest (PAP2T_v5.1.6_fw,1). During the update the window seemed to stall - so, I pressed cancel - and there it was - the device is now in the SOS mode (when network connected it blinks orange 3fast,3slow,3fast). I can't access the web gui, there is no dial tone - the only thing I see on my dhcp server is that it gets a IP when connected.
Is there anything which can be done to recover?
Thanks for any help.

Dear Alberto,
thanks for the quick response - I tried and I get an error that the device can't be found. Does it really take the serial number or is it the MAC address which needs to be specified. Are there any other tricks to "hard" reset the device? At least in my case it still responds:
tcpdump -i eth0 -X -s 4096 host 10.20.22.140
tcpdump: verbose output suppressed, use -v or -vv for full protocol decode
listening on eth0, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 4096 bytes

Larry;
Device looks like in SOS mode so should respond to the recovery tool. How are you connecting it? I assume you are connecting everything to the same subnet (I mean PC and ATA).
Otherwise, try again the upgrade.

Hi Alberto,
yes, they are on the same subnet. I tried it even with a cross cable directly beween my laptop and the device.Any other idea?
Thanks.

I just posted this

Please let me know if it is really in SOS mode

Hi Larry;
This confirms it is on SOS mode, so you should be able to recover it using the tool. If not possible, I suggest you initiate the RMA process (assume the product is on warranty). You would need to open a ticket in our support center to process the RMA.
