I’m setting up a UC540 for SMTP notification for v/m to email. The UC is working fine, however can you please tell me the requirements for the server? We setup an exchange server and the server is rejecting the email from the UC500.

If you are using the exchange server to relay ensure that the exchange allows the IPs from the UC to relay. Also in CUE VM Configuration ensure you have a from address setup in proper email format email@domain.com. If you are having issues using your exchange server to relay, you can always use your provider's smtp relay server.
What are you seeing on your exchange server? What version of exchange are you using?
Let me know if you continue to have issues, I have a vb script I can provide to you for testing smtp relay servers.

I have done this a number of times, all that was needed on the exchange server was to permit relay from the UC500 ip address. Have you done this? Once this is done the smtp settings of the exchange server must be specified on the UC500. Have you done this also?

What version of Exchange? On the UC520, we have the SMTP server set by our internal IP address and provide a username and password to authen
ticate. The Exchange 2007 server by default will not relay internal devices (copier/scanners, UC500, or anything else that likes to email info). You have to go into Exchange Management, the Server Configuration, Hub Transport and add a receive connector or modify the one of the ones there.

I'm running Exchange Server 2008 R2. What do I need to activate in Win Exchange Server 2008 to receive emails from the UC540?

I'm also using CCA 3.0

You will need to log on to the admin website. The default is 10.1.10.1. Use the same password as your CCA login to access the UC520. Once in there, click on System, SMTP settings. Enter the IP address of your Exchange server, the port (should be 25) and then a username and password. I just have the NETBIOS username, not @domain.local or domain\username. Then setup your exchange 2007 like I described earlier. Hope that helps.

Please make sure and specify the IP address of the email server on the UC540 and not the FQDN, or "fully qualified domain name". There is known issue with CUE resolving names of servers on the UC. Is the email reject message on the UC side or on the Windows Server? Are you seeing the messages hit your Exchange server? Have you tried an alternate email server to confirm?

The email server is not seeing the emails from the UC500 at all.
