Hi, Hoping someone could help with this
we have a few ATA units that have the Polycom SoundStation W2 units connected. The issue is that randomly the ATA units stop seeing phone on port 1 , upon rebooting the ATA the service will resume, the ATA will be ok sometimes for days and other times hours. This is an issue we have had since we started using them but have lived with it, But now we need to find out why. I have looked on the cisco forum and some seem to suggest its a timing issue, however the thread is old and relates to an older firmware, currently the ATA's we have are on FW:1.4..1SR1
The Polycom unit are the soundstationW2
These are using the latest FW available from 2011 The ATA units when working have the following LED's lit •
Phone1 – Steady green — The analog phone is not in use or it is waiting for a call. • ( Dial tone )
Internet – Flashing green — The analog phone is either sending or receiving data via the Internet (WAN) port. •
System – Steady green — The SPA122 series device is ready and has attained an IP address.
When its NOT working the following LED's are lit •
Phone1 – Off — The port is not ready. • ( No Dial Tone )
Internet – Flashing green — The analog phone is either sending or receiving data via the Internet (WAN) port. •
System – Steady green — The SPA122 series device is ready and has attained an IP address.
Are there any settings that I need to check on the ATA ?

Hi, is the SPA phone port registered? Eg. to a SIP Server or a PBX?
Can you paste here a screen shot of ATA - Voice - Line1 Line2 web gui, during the issue?
If so, what is the registration timeout configured?
The default is 3600 seconds. Can you decrease it to 300 seconds (5 minutes).
Regards.

Hi the ATA is registering to SIP , but not sure what the registration time is, will try and get the info, the ATA are supplied by provider so I may not be able to get the information without them helping, I have requested assistance. is the line 1 / line two more to do with registration than the device connected into the port ?
Regards

Just to make sure I understand - the ATA is claiming the line is registered ? Saying ATA I mean the ATA - not the PBX or anyone else - even provider can't help you.
is the line 1 / line two more to do with registration than the device connected into the port ?
Yes, it's unrelated. Use browser to access SPA122 and read status page to check state of particular line.

Hi
so when the unit is working the bottom 3 LED's are as follows
bottom LED power on steady green
next Internet - flashing
phone1 steady green when not in a call or when in a call slow flash
when it stops the only led that changes is phone 1 and the LED become unlit
I then have to power cycle the ATA and then it starts working again

It looks like just unregistered. So same question repeated once more - what's the status of line shown on SPA122 status page ?

I will check the status in the morning as I start work at 6am, I will then post the results

I suspect that the line will be unregistered.
If the ATA is provided by your ISP, are you able to change settings?
Do you have already ask to your ISP for this issue?
Regards.
