Hello everyone
I am quite a tech savvy person, however, I'm completely in the dark when it comes to communication systems. So apologies in advance for the possible naivety of my question.
I have bought a SPA112 2 port phone adapter in the hope that I can connect a burglar alarm to a VOIP system via my LAN.
The reason is that we abandoned our analog landline a couple of years ago, opting for mobile (cell) phones and Skype instead.
My questions are these:
Can the SPA112 be used to make an outgoing call from the burglar alarm to my cell phone?
Can the SPA112 do this via Skype or will I need to join another VOIP provider.
What settings do I need to change to make this work?
Please be patient with me.
Many thanks
Seb

Thank you very much.
I'm considering using a cheap outgoing calls only VOIP like this http://soho66.co.uk/7456/all/1/Single-User-VoIP.aspx
Hopefully that will work.
Is there anything I should know about setting up the SPA112?
Thanks again
Seb

Upgrade the firmware of the SPA112 first before making any configurations. That's about it.

Absolutely spot on. Worked without issue.
Thank you very much.
