SPA303 Firmware fail

Noob alert. This is the first time I've tried to upgrade f/w so be gentle.

My phone is at 7.4.5.  DTMF isnt working for in-call key presses (like keying in a code for telephone banking), forums suggest firmware. In any case 7.4.5 is old and should be upgraded.

Phone is plugged into same home network as the PC I'm using. Static IP 192.168.1.50

1. Downloded 7.6.1 zip.

2. Extracted

3. Ran .exe

4. Input IP addr of phone, click OK

5. Upload started. Phone displayed firmware updating messge. Red ligh flashing. All good.

6. Upload stopped at 4.1Mb of 4.4Mb

false

7. After a delay the red light goes solid, the mute button goes solid red and I get another dialog

false

8. I tried three times - same result. Then quit.

Any advice please.

I agree you should upgrade, but I remember no DTMF related issue solved. Thus I don't expect the upgrade will solve your issue.

But we may analyze your issue later.

According the upgrade issue itself - read SPA504G phone does not upgrade, please.

I took a guess that might be the issue, but started trying upgrades from 7.5.5 and up.  So close. Doh!

[for now the DTMF is working again - but it used to stop after a few calls - I will resarch in the forum and post a discussion if I cant find the answer]

Create new discussion for question (if any). Don't forget to disclose settings - namely DTMF Tx Method and codec used. Also note DTMF may not work well if call is on speakerphone (e.g. loud). Full syslog&debug as well as captured SIP dialog with RTP stream may help, but make sure it will not disclose sensitive informations.
