Speakerphone activation on hang up?

Hi All,

     I have a client that is experiencing an issue I've not seen before.  System setup is UC560 / ESW520 / SPA 509G phones.

The issue they are having is when they are on a call and hang up (with handset) the speaker activates and has dial tone.  This behaviour doesn't happen all the time and I can't seem to reproduce it, but I've seen it happen on more than one occasion.

2 questions:

1) Is there a setting that controls the transfer of an active call to speaker automatically when handset is placed on hook?

2) What could be causing the line to stay live and open to dial tone?

Hi Bill;

Is it happening in all phones or just a specific one. I have not heard about issues like this one, so wondering whether this may  be a defective unit.

I suggest you open a case with SBSC to perform the appropriate testing and if the case, RMA.
