Hi All,
Is there a Cisco document which states IP VOIP traffic flows on the UC5XX? Voice payload & signaling ideally.. I need to know if direct RTP is used between IPT's and if it can be turned off so that RTP traffic can flow via the PBX for remote web based users. It's a feature which is available on many other PBX's but im just getting my head around these kind of features on the UC540/60.
We have a rolout which may not have a fully meshed VPN topology so to save on overly complex or poorly scalable VPN setup indirect RTP could be useful if at all possible?. Im aware of the additional latency etc..
Although not ideal in many cases.. It could work well for my clients purposes.
Thanks in advance
Matt

SCCP phone-to-phone media flows directly unless "mtp" is configured under ephone.
SCCP phone to external, always via flow-through router.
SIP to external, apparently have both options, but I never tried flow-around.
