Hello, our company consists of 10-15 employees, we have 4 bonded DSL connections and currently have a VOIP phone system implemented. Depeneding what people are doing on the internet out VOIP quality can be very very poor. We've tried QOS on a lower end watchguard device and had no luck. The watchguard used priority on different port traffic, but it would never work properly. I could be downloading numerous files, trying to tie up the line, then try to place a call and it would be very choppy. I'm looking for a piece of hardware that's going to do QOS properly with my VOIP system. If anyone has a system in place I would like to hear how you have it setup. Any input on this matter would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi Fablo,
If you are using SIP for your phone lines, you would need to contact your service provider to see if they would honor the QoS markings put on your voice traffic. Choppy audio for outbound calls could signify an issue where your voice packets are being trampled by data traffic. If you experience choppy audio for internal calls, you would need to check on your router and switches to make sure they are prioritizing your voice traffic.

If the current provider won’t help you as Marcus suggests, you may want to try a separate ADSL connection suitable for voice from an alternative supplier.
