Thanks for the update Pat!
However I tried upgrading the phone, and im getting a popup:
"Device disconnected!
Please remove and replug USB with the phone, and then run again!"
Tried different usb cables, different usb ports on my computer (Windows 7, regular run, and running with administrative privilages) and on my HTPC computer (windows Vista) with the same behaivor. Phone is fully charged and off. the lcd screen is on at all times (with the battery icon with either charging or the checkmark that is fully charged), so it isnt really disconnecting from the PC. Any idea what could be happening?

Hi Alex,
A normal USB cable should suffice. I'm using a cable that came with my Nikon camera.
Make sure that you do not use the phone cradle. Computer USB port > cable > bottom of phone
I ran with success on XP. I'll test on Windows 7 and report back.

Patrick

Hi,
This worked fine for me first time... Now just sitting watching the phone...
Upgrade process:
Phone was powered off.
I placed the Flashman folder on my desktop and ran the exe.
I then plugged the phone in - I didn't have to turn it on. Either the Flashman triggered it to power on or it powered on because of USB.
It then found to the phone.
The exe then asked for the Flashman folder location and upgraded.

Upgrade went smoothly on Windows XP; no Success with Windows 7.
Are there notes on what specifically this update addresses?

Community,
I confirm that I have the same problem as Alex when trying to use Windows 7, regardless of the compatibility options I choose.
Alternate ways to upgrade are:
1. use a web server
2. use a TFTP server, but if you have a marginal WiFi signal, the update will fail with TFTP due to errors
Syntax is: http://
1. HTTP example: http://
2. TFTP example: http://
I don't have a release note available yet. As I mentioned earlier, this is very early test code, so please don't use if you are averse to bugs.
This code was given to me to test against registration problems with trixbox.
Once the fix has been confirmed and the Quality Assurance team have completed testing, the code will be officially released with a release note. [Schedule unknown to me at this time.]

Patrick

No sure this the right thread. I have a WIP310 and I observed that there is a "Next registration in" counter that starts around 180s and decreases to 0. At the 0 point the phone more often than not moves to the "Not registered" state and then after the "Reg Interval Value" runs down to 0 it re-registers. Is this normal behaviour? If not, who determines the "Next registration in" interval please? Looked in the documentation but was unable to find anything relevant.
Any assistance greatly appreaciated,
Dimitrios

Hi Dimitrios,
No, this is not normal behavior.
The description resembles a bug from an earlier release. Please make sure that the phone is running 5.0.11 available from: https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9923 Registered link or anonymous links available.
The Next Registration interval is controlled by the Phone's Ext 1 tab > Proxy and Registration > Register Expires:

Dear Patrick,
I am ledinhan from VietNam,
We also are facing to the same symtomp of 2 WIP310 as this topic...
Poor us, when these units are the first in Viet Nam...
I have tried and successfully updated your early-beta firmware...however, seems symtomp still happenned.
Without 1 dial-out call, WIP310 will fall to sleep mode, then it could not receive incoming call, sometime it go to unregistered status...
Then,if you make 1 dial-out call, it will wake up...or we have to restart phone...!!!
When will the new firmware will come, Pat?WIP310 really become our nightmare...
Another question:
Can we use the latest firmware of WIP320, WIP330 to fix above symtomp of WIP310?
Tks to your response,
Brgds,
ledinhan

WIP300 and WIP320 are totally different devices. The FW are not common.
