I have a SPA525G2 I'd like to provision via tftp. But unfortunately it does not work as hoped...
I did the following in order to get the provisioning up an running:
1. Set up a DHCP server on a 1841:
ip dhcp pool Telefon_2
host 172.20.2.51 255.255.255.0
option 66 ip 172.20.2.251
option 150 ip 172.20.2.251
The IP adress is given correctly to the SPA525G2 but option 66 does not seem to work...
2. I set up a tftp server on an OpenSUSE 11.4 and put a SPA525G2.cfg with
in the root. The spa503de50f0400.xml, created with the SPA525G SPC, has been modified and put into the directory according to the cfg file mentioned above.
3. Rebooted the phone.
As mentioned the phone get the correct IP but nothing more...
On my Windows 7 machine I can download the files from the tftp server via tftp get...
Any idea what I am missing...???
Regarding to the status page on the SPA525G2 the xml file is not loaded because it is corrupt.
The xml file has been created with the SPC compiler tool for firmware 7.4.8.
Even a config backup via http://172.20.2.51/admin/spacfg.xml is corrupt if I save this as spa$MA.xml ($MA stands for the actual IP... Just to avoid a misunderstanding ).
This seems to be VERY strange...
Has anyone similar experiences?? Or even a workaround??
Can you please attache your spacfg.xml file for investigation?
Also, the $MA mactro resolves to the MAC address of the device not the IP address.
Another good start point would be to fire up a WireShark and do some packet capturing so we can see what is really happening on the network regarding DHCP requests and acknowledgements and TFTP requests.
Thanks and regards,
Together with wireshark traces could you get the syslog from the phone?
Please let me know if you need help to do that.
