Any Connect Configuration on ASA

While checking licenscing information on ASA5520, I am getting the below mentioned status for Any Connect Essential.

AnyConnect Essentials          :      Disabled.

As per my understanding, Any Connect essential license comes along with ASA bundle and we do not need to procure additional licesces. However, since this is an old firewall, I am not sure whether the license came as part of this bundle.

Does this "Disabled" status means, someone has to enable the Any Connect functionality or we do not have even the licensce installed on the firewall.

It might have been included in the ASA bundle, depending on which bundle you ordered.

However Anyconnect Essentials is a licensed feature.

I.e. if you do it on a device which does not have this license:

bsns-asa5505-19(config-webvpn)# anyconnect-essentials

ERROR: Command requires AnyConnect Essentials license

--------

on a device which has it, you can disable it.

----------

uat# sh run webvpn | i ess

no anyconnect-essentials

uat# show version | i Ess

AnyConnect Essentials             : 250            perpetual

Marcin is right, Essentials is part of some bundles but not all are ordered with it.

Also you can check if you have Anyconnect Premium license installed and active. Both cannot be active at the same time.

This platform has an ASA 5520 VPN Plus license.

Need to understand that "Any Connect Essentials" being disabled.. does it indicate that licensce is not ordered as part of bundle or it means it is there but someone need to enable this.
