cant connect pix via SSH

Hi All,

using pix model 515E

pix ver 7.01

ASDM ver 5.01

under configuration> device administration> Secure shell

ip address allowed from outside

getting this error:

SSH Session from myplace on interface outside for user"" disconnected by SSH server, reason:"internal error" (0x00)

fail to establish SSH session beacuse RSA host key retrieval failed.

any Idea?

before you can use ssh you will need to generate a set of rsa key. if you've done it already, maybe delete the current set and re-generate again.

I upgraded from 6.3 to 7.02 and found I could not SSH into the 515E. You have to regenerate the RSA key because it didn't have one anymore. "show crypto key mypubkey rsa" will be blank. Something like "crypto key generate rsa" and it will generate a new 1024 key. Now SSH works for me.
