What's the difference of the two? This is in ASA-5510 model and pretty sure they're same with others too.

Clientless SSL VPN refers to a secure web portal where you can access internal resources and launch web based java plugins.

AnyConnect VPN is the SSL VPN client.

I like the SSL clientless mode with the portal screen, as users don't need a bit of software.

I have never used the SSL VPN client, do users need to download this and are they both as secure?

Sorry to hijack this thread.

Which is faster ?

The clientless version is limited to applications that can run in the context of a web browser. Do you can't do things that require RTP like Unified Communications until Cisco releases a version of IP Communicator and CUVA that can run within that context. You can think of the clientless version as you would Citrix in the sense that the applications have to run within the context of the host application(browser in this case).

Depnds on the app, but as I mentioned above RTP apps don't work in a clientless world. So the simple answer is Anyconnect is faster since it give you full access to locally installed applications. As opposed to just remote access to apps.
