I have a central dhcp server in the main office and we created vpn tunnel to the main office with 3002 hardware client. I would like pc 's behind 3002 to get the ip address from the central office. presently 3002 is also running as a dhcp server. is this possible to do?
Thx

I have not built such a setup, but I guess should be possible using "ip helper-address". Helper-address is used to unicast the DHCP requests on a LAN to a DHCP server on a remote LAN.

I contacted Cisco too on this issue. DCHP relay is not an option in Cisco 3002 Hardware Client.Cisco 3002 can act as a dhcp server but can not forward dhcp braodcasts to other subnets.

Yes, it is possible (that is with PIX xxx on one end). I have a VPN3000 at the main office and PIX 501s at remote sites using "DHCP RELAY". Works great
One thing you need is a static IP at the remote site.
You will need to push that IP back thru the VPN Tunnel.

Great that will be my other option. Luckly you can hardcore the settings in Avaya Phone for option 176. so I won't need to use dhcp relay after all. Thanks for everyone's help.

Yupe can hardcode all the phone information via dialpad, but you could also push option 176 information via avaya's 46xxsettings.txt script file.
script download here (towards the bottom):
Then all you have to do is only hardcode the TFTP server ip address on the phones. The rest of the information like gatekeeper ip address, etc can be in your script file.
