dhcpd auto_config outside

Hi,

I've been tasked with cleaning up some old client configurations. This site is a spoke with one site-to-site vpn tunnel back to the hub.

I'm trying to figure out if the dhcpd auto_config outside is being used to provide dns resolution from the hub site for the spoke site.

dhcpd dns 192.168.a.b 12.x.y.z

dhcpd domain client.com

dhcpd auto_config outside

!

dhcpd address 192.168.a.b-192.168.a.d inside

dhcpd domain client.com interface inside

dhcpd enable inside

Can anyone clear me up on this config and how to tell if it is being used? Thanks.

Check if your ASA outside interface is configured as a DHCP client, or you have static IP Address assigned to your outside interface.

If it is configured as a DHCP client, then yes, the "dhcpd auto_config outside" is being used to pass on all the DNS, WINS, and domain information obtained from the DHCP client on the outside interface to the DHCP clients on the inside interface.

Hope that helps.
