Hi,

I would like to know the diffrence between all these 3 type of VPN.

Just to add another question if the SSL VPN is configured i guess that is accessed by using the url https://ip of firewall. so if that goes to SSL vpn and how do we configure or access GUI of cisco ASA firewall.

Thanks in Advance.

Ajay

the main diff is what they use

ipsec client uses ipsec and others use SSL, SSL has a lot of advantages and also depends on what you use

You can use anyconnect which is the equivalant to ipsec client but just that it uses SSL, using this you will be able to everything that you can do in ipsec and few things more like running scripts

Hi Ajay,

In addition to already provided information, you can view the below document that compares the Two technologies (IPSec and SSL)

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/prod/collateral/vpndevc/ps6032/ps6094/ps6120/prod_white_paper0900aecd804fb79a_ps6657_Products_White_Paper.html

To answer your other question on "admin" access

1. You can change the admin access to be on a different Port than SSL VPN i.e. using 'http server.." command.

OR

2. You can access the GUI by using "https:///admin" URL, if using SSL and Admin access on the same port.

Thanks,

Naman
