Hello everybody,

can somebody help me for configure a gre tunnel for multicast traffic?

My network scheme is:

hosts---switch---router---firewall--internet---host

so the GRE tunnel should be between the router and the host but can I do it between them?I saw a configuration example of GRE tunnel between two routers and I don't know if I can follow the same steps without another router!

I need help!!

Thanks!

Marika

Hi

AFAIK its not possible to create a GRE between a router and host if you have a router at the other end too then its posisble for you to create a GRE between them.

But i feel you can access the router/switch/hosts from the remote host which is connected to the internet using some VPN clients.

To have the same you need to configure ur router as easy vpn server for the same u need to have compatible ios code which supports those feature to have it in your box.

for more info do find the link pasted below which will ofcourse help u to startup with the easy vpn technology..

ok for connect a remote host to my network I already use VPN client and this is good for unicast traffic but not for multicast.

So my problem is that I need to pass multicast traffic through a PIX firewall 6.3.

How can I solve it?
