I have a Mac Book Pro with the newest version of OS X El Capitan 10.11.13, I have installed Cisco AnyConnect (version 3.1.03103)
I am able to put in my username and Password, get the banner page about how it is monitored click accept, but it will not connect, instead I get the following error:
The AnyConnect package on the secure gateway could not be located. You may be experiencing network connectivity issues. Please try connecting again.
The firewall is turned off, FileVault is turned off, and I have researched all over the net for help, but most of the articles I have found people have a firewall turned on, or are running a lower version the Mac operating system (like Maverick). I am also a brand new Mac user so I am on a bit of learning curve as well, so any step by step with screen shots would help.
Can anybody help me?
Thank you for time and patience

Hi Lisa,
Are you trying to set this on an ASA?
You need to upload the AnyConnect pkg for mac users, also El Capitan OS is not supported on AnyConnect 3.x
You can check the release notes for the AnyConnect 3.x:

Hi Carlguer,
Thanks for your reply, I am not knowledgable enough on what ASA is, to be able to answer that question. I have read some stuff about ASA and my limited understanding what that it was tied to a firewall, but I don't have a fire wall turned on.
Some posters have stated they were able to get AnyConnect to work on El Capitan, but they had to go into the root areas of Mac, and I am not knowledgeable enough on Apple/Mac products to do that without step by step directions and screen captures (i.e. hand holding).
I unfortunately do not have a license with Cisco to download the V4 of Any Connect for Mac, that does work, I have an account, I am just not able to purchase. The 3.x version of Any Connect I have installed is for Mac.

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for the response, I'm not sure if the AnyConnect 3.x supports El Capitan OS at all.
Maybe you can try with the latest version of AnyConnect, and if possible please attache the show runn of the device so I can make sure that everything is fine.
Have you tried simple troubleshooting like sending a ping to the ASA?
Are you using a proxy on your mac device?

Hi Lisa,
Please take a look to this link:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/vpn_client/anyconnect/anyconnect31/release/notes/anyconnect31rn.html
New operating support for AnyConnect 3.x ended in July 2015. El Capitan is not a supported operating system for the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client, Release 3.x. However, Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client, Release 4.1 is compatible with...AnyConnect Ordering Guide for information on AnyConnect Plus and Apex licenses, which grant access to AnyConnect 4.x software.
Considering that, i can also tell you that I have seen this working with a 3.x version before, please remove the .pkg for mac from the ASA and add this one again since the error you are getting normally is related with a problem with the anyconnect image on the ASA.
