Hi,
We have site to site VPN between two locations. We plan to have HD quality IP-Address based, video conferencing between these tow locations.
Considering that voice to be reproduced should not exceed delay of about 150 mili seconds how practical it is to have video through VPN tunnel.
Please share the experience.
Thanks

The delay is not really the issue, it's the circuits bandwidth size and connecti
on type?

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for you replay. Definitely bandwidth is still the bottle-neck of all the system. Apart from the available bandwidth encryption and de-cryption of all video, and audio traffic may add some delay I guess. And if we apply correct QoS on the links i think it should be good to go.
Thanks

Typically voice/video will handle a latency time of 100ms in 1 direction, so the max tolerance is 200ms round trip.
Very rarely will you have a cct even over the internet that has that high latency even with encryption.
Managing your BW is paramount for smooth operation.
