I have a network with a Cisco 678 and a NT 4 server, I am performing NAT through it. I need to set up a VPN, do I have to have a public IP on the server or can I set up the 678 to use ports with the internal address? If anyone has any ideas on setting a VPN up like this I would appreciate the help.
Thanks,
Jeremy

You can do NAT but not PAT. If you only have one IP address from your SP, get another and use that for the servers NAT. The 600 series cant terminate the VPN so youll have to go through it.

So I need to give the server a public IP and then use a seperate IP for the NAT. What gateway would I give the server since the inside interface of the 678 is a private IP? I assume when you say I will have to go through the 678 to terminate you mean setting up a NT VPN? Please elaborate.
Thanks for your help.
