VPN Client Requires Smart Card When Using Aladdin eToken

Hi!

So far we have been using Cisco VPN client version 4.6 doing authentication with certificate on Aladdin eToken. It was ok to remove the smart card after connection established.

With the newer version 4.8 it is the opposite - when I remove Aladdin smart card, the VPN session disconnects:-(

I am looking for a way to keep session active when eToken is removed! So far - no success.

I have found in a release notes of VPN client CSCec82220 "VPN Client Can Require Smart Card When Using Certificates" but unfortunately I am not able to identify this feature in my installation.

Anyone can help ?

Thanks!

Janis,

Did you try disabling the Smart Card verification function by completely deleting the entry: SmartCardName= from the user's client profile.

If not, could you try deleting the SmartCardName option from the user profile and test removing the smart card.

Regards,

Arul
