WSA 15.0 and before isn't supported on the x96 boxes (assuming your brand new box is an x96). The first version supported on x96 was 15.2.
Hardware for 14.x

If you like to downgrade you can do from command level
WSA > revert and choose the version to revert back WSA.
before you doing, make sure you check the following.
1. confiuration backup done from WSA and SMA (password unmasked)
2. make sure SMA is compatble matrix the one downgrading.
3. on SMA you may need different config master 14.X since your config master now 15.x so you need to take care of that.
4. if you have changed any custom pages take the backup that files.
If you have register with smart license then unregister before downgrade and after downgrade.
Option 2 :
If you have known config of 14.X , then you can do factory reset and restore the backup.

Brand new box, imaged with 15.2 at the factory, so there's no old code to revert to.

Sure upgrade SMA First, also check what SMA you have some model do not support new Code. so option only is upgrade the appliance to new model to build VM to support latest Async OS WSA
