Hello,
I want to use a 2900 series router to filter URL traffic by forwarding traffic to a GFI Web monitor Server.
The issue that i have is that when i issue the urlfilter command the only vendors are websense and nhn2.
Need a little help here guys. I'm not sure if I should just choose anyone and forward to the GFI server.
thanks
regards
Ayo

Ayo,
The people who posts here are mostly doing this during their free time (including Cisco staffs).
If you want immediate result, I'd recommend you raise a Cisco TAC Case.

The communication between the router and the filtering server is properitary and no real standard, so first you have to make sure that your GFI-server is compatible to one of them (I really don't think that it is). If it is not compatible, you could investigate if your server can act as a WCCP-proxy. Then this could also be a possible way to achive the filtering.

Hi,
Cisco URL Filtering feature provides off-box support for Websense and Smartfilter/N2H2. I would request you to contact the vendor as he might have some more information about the integration with Cisco URL Filtering feature.

You can use the Cisco IOS Content Filtering feature on the IOS itself which would add security rating and category blocking to static black and white lists, and keyword blocking to the IOS Security Feature Set.
You can get more information about it at
