We have HP Thin Client where Webex plugins (41.5.7.15)installed. VM has client installed (41.7.6.9) and while sharing content from ios device or stand alone pc or another VM with thin client or VPN laptop, sharing is not working. Just you see "Some is staring to share content" when we share from VM to ios sharing content can see only first time and frim 2nd time even no sharing works on ios devices or stand alone pc. We made several test and work with TAC but still no luck. We also tested our firewall and looks all transport looks good. ACL and Webex IP all are in place.
Observations and tests before this one:
- We have noticed that the app share works successfully displaying from Physical workstation and cell phone using the same network infrastructure path.
- The VDI-VM does not display the app share if the plugin (a.k.a. shim app) is working on the host device (a.k.a VPN laptop or thin client). (Repeatable)
- The VDI-VM DOES display app sharing on the VM if the plugin is disabled. (Repeatable)
- The VDI-VM can only share a screen ONCE and all subsequent app shares fail to display on any participating device (as you folks witnessed when I attempted to share my screen again). with the following caveat: the VMs with plugin on host never see the share at any point.
- We have tried multiple versions of plugin (on Host device like Laptop or thin client) and client app (on VM) that state they are compatible with each other according to Cisco site for the redirection plugin versioning. None seem to allow app sharing to operate as it previously did.
- We do not see blocks on any of our security appliances that correlate to the webex subnet ranges.
- We added the VDI-VM to a no-decrypt rule to avoid SSL decryption and did not see improvement.
Few Scenarios and their experienced results: (*Device attempting to app share -> device receiving app share = Results on receiving device)
- VDI-VM(with Plugin on host) -> VDI-VM(with Plugin on host) = Does not display app share
- VDI-VM(with Plugin on host) -> Workstation or cell phone = Displays App share once and fails on all other subsequent attempts
- Workstation or cell phone -> VDI-VM(with Plugin on host) = Does not display app share
- Workstation or cell phone -> VDI-VM (W/O Plugin on Host) = Displays app-share as designed
- Workstation or cell phone -> Workstation or cell phone = Displays app-share as designed
- VDI-VM (W/O Plugin on Host) -> Workstation or cell phone = Displays app-share as designed
- VDI-VM (W/O Plugin on Host) -> VDI-VM(with Plugin on host) = Does not display app share
