Cisco Room Bar: Check Tx Input Signal Error

Connection Setup: Cisco Room Bar <<< HDMI extender (Rx end) <<< UTP CAT6 <<< HDMI extender (Tx end) <<< Laptop

We are using an HDMI extender with our Cisco Room Bar to connect our laptop for sharing and presentation. After disconnecting the laptop, the "Check Tx Input Signal" error message will appear on the TV display. We need to manually click the Hide button to clear the error message.

I also noticed that the SignalState of the HDMI is always ON even if there is no laptop connected.

The behavior of our Room Kit Plus is different with the same connection setup, the SignalState is showing NotFound when there is no laptop connected. There is also no "Check Tx Input Signal" error when I disconnected my laptop.

Has anyone else had this issue or something similar? Cheers

Which HDMI extender are you using? We use Crestron models and haven't seen any issues like that - I have seen issues with cheaper models in the past. If you directly connect the PC does it work? If so it's not likely to be a codec issue. I'd open a ticket with TAC if you can't get it resolved.

We have isolated the problem and found out that the HDMI extender is the culprit. Our supplier only used the cheaper one. @PJMack can you advise what model of the Crestron HDMI extender do you used? Cheers

Lately we've been using AVPro products, I think Crestron has had supply chain issues. Take a look here - these are similarly high quality: https://avproedge.com/pages/hdmi-extension
