This question is for devices admins and security expert.
So I manged to make Macro update it self using public GitHub repository.
Simply, the macro check if there is a new release on the repo (either when you click on a button or after a set interval ) and if there is a new release it will install it the new Macro overwriting the old one.
is this considered acceptable security wise ? is it useful for device admins ?

I agree with @jrsteele21. Besides than that I am also in favor of a more conservative approach in regards to macros. I rather like to have control over when a macro is updated, than just letting it auto-update itself. The benefit of that is that I will check the macro before and after an update in order to ensure its functionality. However, this is also the drawback, as you need more time for this approach.
Best regards
Igor

I think this is a conversation you need to have with your security team. It's the same situation with Windows Updates or any other software out there. Also, how do you know the Macro on GitHub would be correct since it's public? What are the ramifications if the macro is overwritten? tread lightly
