This used to work in the past and is a regression. Here is how you re-produce this bug:
- Join a call.
- Unmute yourself by clicking the digital button in the Webex window. Ensure the other people can hear you.
- Now reduce the (gain) input volume of the input source to zero. (On a Mac by going to Sound Settings > Input > Sliding the input volume toggle all the way to the left) This also causes Webex to digitally mute you - automatically. It doesn't matter whether or not "Sync mute with mic button" is checked or unchecked.
- Now bring up the gain. Webex doesn't unmute you and you must click on the icon manually to unmute.
This is a huge productivity killer.
I use `Mic Drop` on Mac to assign a universal key combination to Mute/Unmute myself without needing to have the Webex meeting in focus. This is a fairly basic bug that Webex should have addressed especially considering the number and frequency of updates the app has.
