On April 13th, 2022, the Webex Developer Evangelism Team announced the kick-off of our Webex Apps Hackathon at the Intro to Webex Apps public webinar.
This Webex hackathon is a multi-week, public-facing hackathon centered around building applications on top of the Webex developer ecosystem to drive community forum engagement, expand developer awareness for Webex products, drive App Hub submissions, and uncover developer challenges. Hackathon teams can create and submit a demo of any type of Webex app or integration that is suitable for the Webex App Hub. The teams will record a demo and presentation of their app for submission, which will be evaluated by the judges for some great prizes.
During the hackathon, the Webex Developer Evangelism team, along with Developer support, will be available via Webex and the Developer Community Forum to all hackathon participants.
All participants who submit an entry, qualify for Webex swag
Judging of the Webex Apps Hackathon (WAH22) submissions will commence upon the submission close deadline of May 4th, 2022, at 2359 Pacific Time.
Submissions will be made via a forum post in the Hackathon Submissions thread and will contain a link to the publicly viewable 5-minute video representing the team’s submission. Judges will evaluate the submissions on the following basis:
Is this a new thing? Does a lightbulb go on over the judges’ heads when they see your solution? Advancing the state of the art is thirty-three percent of the grading process.
Is the UX familiar or intuitive? Does this solution feel market-ready? That “certain something” is a third of the criteria.
What impact does this solution bring to the online collaboration community using Webex? Are we making lives better? Are we saving people time, and helping them live their best lives?
Judging will begin at 1200 PDT Thursday, May 5, 2022
Judging will end at 1200 PDT Wednesday, May 18, 2022
Results will be announced at 0900 PDT Thursday, May 19, 2022
Prizes will be sent out by Monday, May 23, 2022
Swag will be sent out by Thursday, May 5, 2022
There is an additional category called the “People’s Choice”. This will be awarded to the submission post in the forum with the most “helpful” votes, as measured by the end of the official judging period.
Registration for the hackathon is open to the world (no public sector or Cisco employees) – spread the word!

Hi @david.macias ,
We have identified an issue preventing some users from requesting the sandbox when logged into the developer portal. It appears that you may be affected by this based on the screenshot.
As a temporary workaround you should be able to request a Sandbox after logging out of the Webex Developer Portal. Once you have logged out you will have the option to supply an email address for the Sandbox Creation notification and the submit button should be working. If this does not work please let us know.
WRAPPING UP! 24 hours to go until we announce the winners of the Hackathon! Register here for the announcement Webinar:

Thanks, everyone, for your hard work!
Looking for support during the hackathon? You found it! This forum is the right (and only official) place to ask.
Feeling like some casual water cooler banter on the side? There's a space for that, too: https://eurl.io/#z7mLAsL9d
1-week Check In && Office Hours tomorrow @ 0900 PDT (California time)! If you've registered, I'll be sending you the invite shortly. You'll be able to ask any questions you have, and it will be recorded and shared publicly here afterwards.
Also, does anyone know who the team named LoneyIsland is? We got your empty registration, and don't know how to contact you! Please ping me and we'll get you sorted.

Happy 2-week mark, Hackers! Here's today's check-in video. We're excited to see what you're building! Final check-in is next Wednesday. Rather than a participants-only invite meeting for office hours, this next one will be a Webinar. As always, you're in the right place, right here in the forum, to ask any question, raise any support needs, or just share memes of encouragement.
Final Week! Are you ready? Join us this Wednesday at 9am Pacific for the Final Check In. Register here: https://cisco.webex.com/cisco/j.php?RGID=r29651253ddda5cc6ae822dc49db01399
FINAL CHECK IN RECORDING! Today is the last day to submit your final entry. How? Make a video (use Vidcast.io), and post a reply to the following thread here in this Webex Developer Community Forum: https://community.cisco.com/t5/webex-for-developers/hackathon-submission-thread/m-p/4596440#M688
(50.89 MB MP4 video file attached inline above.)
Good luck, all!
COPY here so you'll see it, from over in the Hackathon Submission Thread:
Thanks for submitting, everyone! Out of 19 registered teams, 3 have submitted. That's great news for those three! Guaranteed to be first, second, and third. Everyone, please click on the star icon for "Helpful" if you want to vote for these three for People's Choice. Somebody's getting two prizes, and we need your help to decide who!
ALSO - were you on a team that did not submit an entry? We're SUPES curious about what you've been working on. We're going to allow additional videos to be submitted during the next couple of weeks from anyone that has already registered while judging of these three goes on. If you post a link to a video demo of your IDEA (even if you didn't build it), you'll qualify to receive swag.
Thanks, everyone, for your participation!

First of all: congrats to all winners!
As we've just been a few people in the webinar, it would have been more fun to have it meeting-like and not just a presentation by David. I think it would have been even more fun and more interactive..
For the next hackathon, if there are also just a few submissions like this year, what about having the teams demoing their submissions in a live demo again? Just to have the webinar/meeting even better.
RESULTS:
First Place: Team Data Ninjas
Second Place: Team Turtle Type
Third Place: Team FZICRE
People's Choice: Team Turtle Type
Congrats to all!
