Is there a way to split my students into breakout rooms for a few minutes of discussion? Hoping my students and their teams can have their own separate areas to brainstorm with each other live.

Greetings!

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: It depends on which product you are using. It can be done in automatically in Webex Training or by following a manual process in Webex Teams.

It's worth noting that Webex is a suite of products. We have several solutions to fit various needs.

Here are a few:

Webex Meetings: https://www.webex.com/video-conferencing

Webex Training: https://www.webex.com/training-online.html

Webex Events: https://www.webex.com/webinar.html

Webex Teams: https://www.webex.com/team-collaboration.html

As for your inquiry, Breakout rooms is currently a built-in feature with Webex Trainings. We have free online and recorded classes on how to use Webex Trainings here: https://help.webex.com/landing/onlineclasses/previousClass/Webex-Training#Webex-Training-for-the-Attendee

You're probably interested in this one focused on Breakout Sessions: https://launch.webex.com/launch/lsr.php?RCID=bc84a05396b84bb8bd6572882902581f

To get access to Webex Trainings you will have to follow one of the two paths below:

a. Contact a local Cisco partner in your region: http://cisco.com/go/partnerlocator
b. Contact Cisco sales to discuss your needs: https://www.webex.com/contact-sales.html

Lastly, I have been helping teachers and educators. Some have found creative ways to use Webex Teams to create their own type of breakout sessions. Attached is a how-to guide created by one of our Customer Success Managers. We offer free classes on how to create and manage breakouts in Teams. You can register for a live class: https://help.webex.com/landing/onlineclasses/upcomingClass/Webex-Teams#Overview-of-Webex-Teams or watch the recording here: https://launch.webex.com/launch/ldr.php?RCID=040038065b599825bda03c18c4d53fec

If you have more questions, I am happy to help provide more answers or source the information for you.

Cheers,

Richard
