cisco room bar licensing

Hi.

I'm looking for information about licensing terms.

If I have Cisco Room Bar and want to use it with MS Teams Rooms (A-FLEX-CVI-ROOMS license) should I first buy license for cloud device registration (A-FLEX-C-DEV-REG) and/or NU Webex Meetings - Meetings (A-FLEX-NUM-MC)?

Or I can buy just A-FLEX-CVI-ROOMS and no any other licenses required?

2 Accepted Solutions

If you intend to utilize Microsoft Teams Room (MTR), the licenses will be deducted from the MTR licenses, and no license is necessary from Cisco.

The CVI licenses are specifically for Webex Video Integration with Microsoft Teams, which represents a distinct solution model.

May I inquire which option you plan to use: CVI or MTR?

Hi
Ideally for device management, sip dialing, software upgrade management, analytics, troubleshooting etc I would recommend a registration to control hub for all our Cisco video devices - this would require a Cisco Cloud Device registration license subscription.
Often the cloud device registration can be part of your Flex subscription but you need to check if you have a Webex subscription contract. Look for "Cloud Device Registration Entitlement"
Then for MS route -
If you didn't know this already Cisco Room Bar can run Microsoft Teams Room native as well. See here https://roomos.cisco.com/doc/MTR/Requirements this has license implications also from Microsoft side.
For Cloud Video Interop then you need a Cisco CVI license. Most customers use this option if they want to remain in an open ecosystem to join other meeting platforms , have legacy endpoints, want to use Sip calling or want to maybe run macros that may not be possible in the MTR native option. See slide 36 https://www.ciscolive.com/c/dam/r/ciscolive/global-event/docs/2022/pdf/BRKCOL-2184.pdf
Hope that helps.

Does anyone know on the Microsoft side what Teams licensing is required to incorporate a single Room Bar for Teams registration?

If you intend to utilize Microsoft Teams Room (MTR), the licenses will be deducted from the MTR licenses, and no license is necessary from Cisco.

May I know that difference between CVI and MTR?

What different solution model cisco Room bar pro have?
May I know the options for cisco room bar pro onboarding and registration? we have cisco Room bar pro?
can we registeter room bar pro directly with MS teams ? or do we need to register first with webex and then register with MS teams? what licenses do we need? can you provide a brief in this regard so that I can suggest management accordingly.

@Nithin Eluvathingal thanks for your help!

For now we want to buy 2 devices to use MTR only and in the future they could be connected to CUCM and Webex cloud also, which will be a point of an additional decisions and procurements.

But just to be sure. There are two models of using MS Teams on Cisco equipment (like Room Bar or Board Pro):

a) just buy MTR licenses from MS and connect equipment to MS cloud service and 2) register equipment in Webex cloud and then add licenses to interconnect connect cloud Webex services to MTR services?

Maybe you can provide pls any additional information regarding this variants and maybe some schemes or illustrations in manuals or datasheets etc because it seems to be not obvious and very confused to me (
