Peek option under the Right-click on Contact

What is the function of Peek option under Right click options on a contact on Webex Chat window? Can anyone please enlighten?

Peek allows you to look into a space without notifying the other people in the space you have seen the message. This is great if you want to take a quick look to see if it is important but may not have the time to respond immediately.
