Sorry Ekahau Heatmapper will only show what the existing (installed) coverage is.

The difference between the two is the heatmapper is really designed to give people a cut down survey tool for single office space/ homes. Where as the Site Survey is designed for planning and more enhanced survey features.

Around learning Ekahau there are multiple quick how to videos and blog pieces available on their site.

For formal training their ESCE Course: https://www.ekahau.com/training/certification-courses/

If you reach out to Ekahau they will be able to hook you up with a demo copy more than likely, which should give you the ability to give it a test run. https://www.ekahau.com/products/ekahau-site-survey/evaluate/

The generation of a heat map is really called a wireless design.

These are done to ensure that coverage and capacity is going to be meet before physically installing the access points.

The software I use to do this is Ekahau Site Survey. That being said if you are only doing a one off design/ install the software does have a price tag attached to it.

If you have Cisco Prime and you are only doing a one off you could use the wireless planning tool within it:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/prime/infrastructure/3-2/user/guide/bk_CiscoPrimeInfrastructure_3_2_0_UserGuide/bk_CiscoPrimeInfrastructure_3_2_0_UserGuide_chapter_0111.html#task_C11E19DC3022446BA3F09F0D0E14D537

That being said Prime is not as good as Ekahau.

The other option if you are only doing a small non complex space is look at Ekahau HeatMapper

Hope this helps

Hi,
Thanks, Yeah,I've seen Ekahau Heatmapper, but i don't know how it works as the i'm totally new to Wireless World, apart from this is there any way to add access points models in it? and do i really need Ekahau Site Survey ? i'm already having Ekahau Heatmapper but, i guess it's not that helpful. check the screenshot, it will help you to understand my problem.
I don't know how to use Ekahau Is there any possible way that i can learn?
