Need information on upgrading Cisco 5508 FUS and IOS

I have a Cisco 5508 WLC that I want to upgrade to software version 8.3.143.0. I have some questions before I attempt the upgrade.

1. I understand before I can upgrade the 5508 IOS, I need to update the FUS first. I have the

AIR-CT5500-K9-1-9-0-0-FUS.aes

Is this correct?

2. I do not have the 8.3.143 IOS for the 5508. Can I use the 8.3.143 IOS for a 2504 WLC on the 5508?

FUS upgrade is required.
Have someone read the Release Notes for 8.3.X.X? I hope someone did because it is not possible to upgrade from 7.X.X.X to 8.3.X.X direct without going through 8.2.16x.X.X.

 Yes, I have the K9-8-2-141-0-0.aes. I will upgrade to that version, and then upgrade to 8.3.x.x. My question is, can I use the 2500 version on a 5508?

Read carefully my response. 

Nowhere did I say about 8.2.141.0.

I have never downloaded any images other than from the Cisco site.

Yes, you are correct. What I'm going to do is, try and find a used 5508 with 8.3 installed already.
